One in a Million .... Lexi's parents day

Today was Lexi's parents day ... One in a million was the title for the day.  We were treated to a short little play where all the kids described why their parents are "one in a million".  This was also in celebration of the class reading  the million word goal ... even though they far surpassed it to almost 3 million words.  We were also treated to the class playing violin.  They have worked so hard on this violin playing and with only a few months of practicing, I have to say they did quite well!

It was a great morning ... momma and poppa always enjoy our classroom time!

Earth day

"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children"

Today was Earth day at school.  Unity always celebrate Earth day.  We started out the morning celebrating with the preschool.  They were adorable.  They all gathered on the front lawn, joined in circle and sang their earth songs.  I love how they sing with such conviction! In the end they all got to "hug the earth".

Following the preschool, was the rest of the schools Earth day celebration,  They were treated to a great animal show.  You know someone made sure she had a front row seat!

American Girl fashion show ...

Today was the American girl fashion show.  The girls were beyond excited for this ... especially since they were IN the fashion show.  Lexi as Marie Grace (one of her best friends was Cecile) and Carli so beautifully modeling a bitty twin outfit.  They both did amazing.  You see, American girl is the thing to have at this age.  It is the big deal.  Like save your money and beg your parents constantly for all the dolls and accessories big!

Momma was on the committee which was a pleasure.  I met and was able to work with so many momma's that are not part of the Unity family.  Perhaps the best part about all this was that this was in benefit for the Palm Beach County Literacy Coalition.  We raised a lot of money for both child and adult literacy.  So very important!

We did two shows and were exhausted at the end, thank goodness for those yummy sugary treats served.  Both Lexi and Carli's friends and teachers came in support of the Unity girls as well as the literacy coalition.

I have only a few pictures off of my phone and camera, as I was volunteering all day.  I attempted to take pictures of our souvenir photos to include them in our blog, but it didn't work so well.  Oh well!

Preschool parents day at Unity

Today was parents day for Carli and Gavin.  Momma and poppa got to go to the school, have breakfast with the other momma's and poppa's, hear the kids song presentation and then go back to their classroom.  Both Carli and Gavin made us presents and were so proud to give them to us! Gavin made us a book and a picture frame ... mine with his handprint and poppa's with his footprint.  We loved the books, Gavin's wrote his books all about his momma and poppa.  Of course, his statements about us were not 100% accurate, but hilarious to say the least! Carli made us a beautiful pot with her fingerprints on it made to look like bugs.  She planted us some beautiful plants in our handmade pot.  She showed off her room and all her hard work.  She even made time to pose for a picture or two.

We had a great morning at school.  Momma and poppa certainly felt special!
