Halloween

What a day! We started off with school parties and ended it with dinner and trick or treating with the cousins.  We were exhausted by the end of the day.  We are certainly looking forward to Halloween being on a Friday night next year.  This getting up the next morning for school, just plain out stinks!

Decorating our pumpkins .....

So today was conference day at school, a nice break in the middle of the week.  A perfect day to decorate our Halloween pumpkins.  We usually do carving, I should correct myself and say that I usually do the carving.  This year, momma changed it up a bit .... the kids were going to do the decorating.  We axed the actual carving and went with a style the kids could do all on their own with minor supervision.  They had much more fun this way!

Peace on Earth day at Unity School

Today was Peace on Earth day at the school.  This is always such an amazing morning.  This year the theme was "sowing the seeds of peace".  The sunflower you will see in many of the pictures is because the sunflower is an international symbol of peace.

After the Peace on Earth day performance in the am, a school wide project was done.  The school paired an older grade child with a younger grade child and they completed sunflower pots.  The pots were made to look like the Once Ler from The Lorax movie.  These pots had a planted sunflower and will be delivered to places all over the local cities.  Each plant had two peace message attached to the pot.

What a great message and lesson these kids get on a daily basis!
