A magical Christmas

Christmas is such a magical time.  I love Christmas and the innocence of it, the magic of it.  I love how children just eat it all up.  I remember Christmas as a child, always being so magical, so special, counting down the days, sleeping with my sister on Christmas eve night.  I see this same magic in the eyes of my kids.

This year was no different, they actually asked for very few things and Santa delivered on all of them.  Of course, Santa brought a few extra things as well, ok, maybe a few more than an extra.  They were all so appreciative of everything they got.  At one point, Carli even said "if I don't get my wish, I am just going to appreciate and be happy with what I did get".  Seriously! Makes me heart melt.

This year brunch was hosted at our house for poppa's side of the family.  Seems we have had a lot going on around here the past month, but I managed to host a beautiful brunch.  Family time is so important and it seems like we just can't squeeze in enough time lately.  Everybody has such busy and opposite schedules, it makes it difficult.  I think 2014 should be a year of no excuses and we need to try and make Cleveland cousin time happen more often.

At the end of the day, we had a beautiful and most magical day!  Merry Christmas to my beautiful and amazing family.

Christmas eve memories .....

Christmas eve with momma's family.  We spent the day and into the evening at Mema's house.  It's always a relaxing and exciting time.  Some good food, some cousin time and a few gifts.  Spending Christmas eve this way, gives us more time to enjoy the holidays .... both Christmas eve and Christmas day.  Seems so nice to not have to rush around and to be able to truly enjoy the holiday days.  At least while the kids are young, perhaps once they get older, dinner with family on Christmas day will become a nice option.
