Diamond Beach on the Jersey Shore

We spent two weeks at Diamond Beach.  This was an amazing vacation.  The kids had so much fun.  For momma and poppa it was a fun and relaxing vacation with very little "work".  We had the most perfect weather with 75-80 degree temperatures and zero humidity.  We had one morning of rain the first week and one day of cloudy weather the following week.

Some of our activities other than daily time at the beach included a climb up the light house.  199 stairs to be exact! Not many people can say they carried a 4 year old child up and down all 199 stairs, I can!  We visited sunset beach where we collected the coolest rocks ever.  We were also able to dolphin watch from the shore here.  So super cool!

We visited Cape May's historical streets.  Fun shopping, treats and momma was treated to a bracelet set that I have been wanting.  We of course did the boardwalk a couple of times, including a bike ride to and from one morning.  We rode a really cool bicycle built for 5! We also did the same pirate cruise we did last year.  This was even more hilarious than I remembered.  Gavin literally thought it was hysterical.

We visited Duffer ice cream shop more than one time.  We will leave it at that! Unbelievable is all I can say.  Played mini golf a time or two.

Perhaps what poppa was most excited about was the New Jersey state bbq championship.  Great food, great music and lots of lines.  Wishing the kids held up a bit longer here than they did.

We ate at more terrific, unbelievable restaurants than I can count! We may have come back a couple pounds heavier.

27/52 .... 12 years of marriage

People think your soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person that shows you everything that's holding you back, the person who brings you to your attention so you can make changes in your own life. A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. Happy 12th anniversary to us, the ones that tear down each other's walls and make us better spouses and parents. We argue, disagree and loose patience sometimes but we love even more. Our perfect marriage is just two imperfect people who refuse to give up on one another. Looking forward to celebrating 12 years of marriage with dinner and Lionel Richie concert tomorrow and NYC next weekend.
