My little trick or treaters.  For the first time, they just wouldn't go with momma's ideas.  I tried every angle and Lexi wouldn't budge.  She insisted on being something scary.  You know who was right behind her.  Then you have Carli!

As I look at this perfectly imperfect photo taken through my temporary very dirty plexi glass window, I can't help but think ... These are the days. This is it, I am in it, right down deep in it. Treasure hunts and adventure walks, homework and activities, lots and lots of questions and childhood innocence. Endless hugs and kisses! Sweet conversations that brighten my days. This is what my heart longs for. These are the memories that pass us just as quickly as they come. Perhaps I could truly learn to just soak up all this motherhood. ‪

Bahamas!

So momma and poppa ditched the kids for the weekend.  We have been trying to do this more often lately.  It has been so nice to make this a priority in our marriage.  With three kids it made it difficult for many years.  We truly get to enjoy each other without being interrupted 17 times a minute.  This time around we went to the Bahamas.  In the past, we have stayed at the Atlantis, this time around we tried Sandals.  We both decided that we will stick to Atlantis from now on.  We were not impressed at all with the Sandals resort, but none the less got to spend time with each other.

Wow, was it H-O-T.  It just can't figure out how to be fall down here in south Florida.  We made it through the pumpkin patch,  hayride and corn maze in the 90 plus degree weather.  Next year .... I will plan a fall trip.

I am four. I am not built to sit still, keep my hands to myself, take turns, be patient, stand in line, or keep quiet all of the time. I need motion, novelty, adventure, and to engage the world with my whole body. Let me play. Trust me I am learning!

It's so funny to go back and look at pictures I snapped throughout the week. They always seem to perfectly reflect our family. We spent Sunday morning at the park, well because, we got that gorgeous Florida weather we wait for all summer. All in one picture, I have Alexi swinging from a vine, literally. Gavin attempting to climb the tree and well Carli, she is just standing back and observing. She eventually did swing a time or two.

Tennis ..... finally!

This little man started tennis today.  He was so proud to finally be able to join the courts.  Momma was so happy to not have to chase him around for an hour and a half while his sisters were on the courts.  I call it a win/win.
