A street festival ....

We are always looking for fun and different things to do, especially with a house of full construction.  When the fun and different things involve being outdoors we love it even more.  This weekend a local city held a street chalk festival.  The chalk art was amazing.  We enjoyed the art, drank giant root beer sodas and had some lunch.  It inspired the kids to stop at the craft store and pick up their own chalk on the way home.  Our driveway turned into our own street chalk festival.

The school auction ... a night out for momma and poppa

Tonight was the Unity school auction.  This is the schools 50th year celebration, so the auction this year  is considered more of a gala.  I am honored to be a part of such an amazing school.  Here is to raising lots of money and having a great time!

Happy birthday to Poppa

In our usual fashion, the kids have to celebrate everyones birthday .... young or old.  Today was no exception.  It was poppa's birthday.  Happy birthday Poppa, we love you!

7/52/2015 ....

The best teachers are those who show you where to look but don't tell you what to see. Here is Gavin working on his Impressionism in the style of Monet. Such a hard worker he is! I love that he is so happy at school. I love even more that his teacher sends out pictures all the time.

Valentines Day

We like to celebrate Valentine's day as a family.  We usually try to stay away from the crowds and over priced meals.  This year we went to the beach, had dinner and ice cream and walked around for a bit.  Happy Valentine's day to all my loves!

A trip to New Orleans

We went to New Orleans, just momma and poppa.  We went to celebrate a good friends 40th birthday. We had lots of fun.  Ate, walked the city and shopped a bit.  It was a weekend of fun.  We were able to see some pre mardi gras festivities.  This was perfect, as we didn't get the heavy crowds that mardi gras delivers but we were able to experience a parade and some of the festivities.

I was only able to retrieve a couple photos, but here they are .... not the best, but something!

4/52/2015 .....

The end of our very first soccer season. Should I admit that I actually truly enjoyed it. Lexi jumped on a team not knowing a single girl. Not only did she not know a single girl, but they all knew each other. She confidently pushed her way through. Scored three goals her first season and had more goal to goal break always than any girl on her team. Basically this girl rocked her first season and can't wait for spring soccer to start. My Carli, oh my Carli. This girl just exudes confidence. She is at the last age group of co-ed and this girly girl let no boy intimidate her. Gavin, well he decided to climb out of the womb about half way through the season. He ended with a bang and went from one extreme to another and decided he was playing travel soccer .... at the age of four. (Doesn't really exist, but he thinks so). What a great first soccer season!

Carli on the soccer field ....

When a momma friend is a great photographer and your daughter plays against her son, you get some really awesome soccer photos!

Soccer Awards

So we made it through our first season of soccer.  All three kids played! Alexi started off strong, and as committed and responsible as she always is and totally rocked her first season of soccer.  She even won the trophy for the most goal to goal break aways.  Our Lexi girl is fast!

Carli was amazing herself.  At Carli's age they still play teams mixed with both boys and girls.  Carli was not intimidated by the boys what so ever.  I am so proud of how Carli gets out on that field and works her butt off.  Carli may not be the fastest but she is the best team player and she does not give up.  Carli scored a few goals herself this season.

Gavin .... well Gavin, oh Gavin! Gavin was hot and cold depending on the week.  Gavin would prefer to hang with his momma, run around the field like a crazy man until the actual game started.  Towards the end of the season Gavin did much better.

All and all we are so proud of all three of them!!

A trip to the Florida state fair .....

We spent the afternoon at the fair.  Honestly, momma is not a huge fan of the fair but the kids enjoy it.  A couple of hours there, a few rides and a treat and we call it a night.  This year the kids met up with their cousins.  Cousins always make anything more fun!

A visit with Pa

Pa recently moved into a home with more care for him.  It seems like we really found a great place for Pa.  Pa is able to get the care that he needs without being in a large nursing home facility.  The kids also like Pa's new home.  Its on a large acre with lots of running around area.  Today I was able to capture a quick picture of Pa and Gavin.  I hope the kids are able to have lots of memories of them and their Pa.
