Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader ...

The more that you read, the more places you'll go.  The more that you learn, the more things that you'll know.    - Dr. Seuss

This month the girls celebrated reading at school.  Each child in each class was allowed one guest speaker to come in throughout the month and read to the class.  The girls insisted we sign up quickly!

On Tuesday, momma read to Carli's class.  I read The Golden Egg by Margaret Wise Brown ... the kids really enjoyed it.  What a cute story about a bunny who finds an egg and tries everything to crack it, gets really tired, falls asleep and while sleeping the egg finally cracks.  Voila ... a new baby chick friend for the bunny.  That is, once he finally woke up.

On Wednesday, Carli (yup that is what I said),  had the opportunity to read to Lexi's class.  Carli read to the first graders.  She was so proud as we all were of her.  Lexi showed her off so proudly.  Carli hopped right up on that stool, read her story loud and clear and didn't miss a beat.  The first graders were so attentive for their little reader.  Carli read a Dr. Seuss book Ten Apples Up on Top, she read it so well.  Perhaps the friends especially loved the book themed snack Carli brought for them ... apples and peanut butter cups.
